Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026 · Applies to the chesse98 browser extension published by Skynon Labs Ltd. (https://skynonlabs.com).

English

No account. No analytics. No tracking.

chesse98 has no account system, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising SDK and no sale of data. It never sends us any personal data.

Stored on your device

Everything stays in the browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own device:

  • your settings (look, board colour, sound, language, puzzle reminders, move suggestions and coach on/off),
  • the game in progress, up to three saved games and the last game's analysis,
  • your statistics (wins, draws, losses, streaks) and puzzle progress (rating, solved puzzles, daily, weekly and monthly results).

Removing the extension deletes all of it. The game statistics can also be reset in the extension.

The chess engine (Stockfish), the computer opponent, move suggestions, the coach and the game analysis run entirely on your device. The puzzles are bundled in the extension.

Online games with a friend

Only when you choose "Play online", the extension connects to our game server (wss://skynonlabs.com/chesse98/ws) to pass the moves between you and your friend. The server receives the game code, the moves, the time control and the clock; nothing else (no name, no account, no e-mail). Games are kept only in the server's memory while they are played; once both players have left, a game is deleted after 10 minutes if it has finished and after 30 minutes otherwise. Games are not written to a database or to log files. As with any website, the network address of your device is visible to the server while you are connected; it is used only to limit abuse (too many connections) and is not stored.

What the extension does not do

  • It does not read the pages you visit; it has no content scripts.
  • It does not load or execute remote code. The Stockfish WebAssembly file is part of the package.
  • It shows no ads and collects no data for advertising.
  • Move suggestions are never available in online games or on other chess websites.

Permissions

  • storage: saves the settings, games and statistics described above.
  • sidePanel (Chrome, Edge): shows chesse98 in the browser's side panel. Firefox uses its sidebar instead.
  • alarms: updates the number on the toolbar icon (waiting puzzles) every 30 minutes, for example after midnight. No network request is made.

Sharing and links

The share buttons open the chosen service (for example WhatsApp or X) with a short text and a link to this extension's page. The statistics picture is made on your device and is only copied or downloaded when you press the button. The extension also links to Skynon Labs pages and to our Buy Me a Coffee page (https://buymeacoffee.com/skynonlabs); opening a link only opens that page in a new tab. Donations are voluntary and unlock nothing — every feature is free.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date. Questions: support page, contact form or hello@skynonlabs.com.

Türkçe

Hesap yok. Analiz yok. Takip yok.

Her şey kendi cihazınızda, tarayıcının eklenti deposunda (chrome.storage.local) kalır:

  • sidePanel (Chrome, Edge): chesse98'i tarayıcının yan panelinde gösterir.
